Hydraulic Attachments, Hammers & Breakers

Rammer hammers, compactors, buckets, couplers and shears — sized to your carrier weight and hydraulic flow, not just sold off a shelf.

Getting It Right

An Undersized Hammer Costs More Than An Oversized One

Attachment failures are almost never the attachment's fault. They are a matching problem.

Run a hammer too small for the material and you will spend the tool's life beating it against rock it was never designed to break — chisel wear, bushing wear, and a carrier taking feedback it should not be taking. Run one too large and you overload the boom and the pins.

Before we quote you anything, we want four numbers: carrier operating weight, hydraulic flow, working pressure, and the coupler or bracket you are running. It takes one phone call and saves a great deal of money.

  • Carrier operating weight — the number the tool is rated against
  • Hydraulic flow in GPM and working pressure in PSI
  • Coupler type, bracket and pin dimensions
  • The material you are actually breaking, and how often

Questions We Get

Attachment FAQs

Start with the carrier's operating weight and hydraulic flow. Every hammer has a carrier weight window, and running outside it in either direction shortens the life of the tool, the boom or both. Send us the machine's make, model and flow figures and we will confirm the right class before you buy anything.

Yes. The bracket is part of the match, not an afterthought. Tell us the coupler you are running — or that you are running pin-on — and the bracket gets specified alongside the tool so it bolts straight up.

Often, yes, provided the auxiliary flow and pressure are within the tool's range and the machine has the weight to hold it. The limiting factor is usually flow rather than weight. We will check the numbers with you.

We do. Used tools are a sensible buy when the wear items — chisel, bushings, through-bolts — are reported honestly, which is exactly what we do. Ask what is on the lot this week.

We can source chisels, bushings and service parts for the lines we carry. Call the yard with the tool's model and serial number and we will work out what you need.
